Study Questions

  1. When have you had an “All Access Pass”, a “VIP Pass”, or an “All Inclusive” deal? What was that experience like?
  2. Read Romans 5:1-11. What does it mean to you to have peace with God through Jesus and full access to His grace? How are suffering, hope and God’s love all interrelated? If Paul were speaking this passage to you, what do you think his tone would be?
  3. According to Isaiah 53:5, what was the cost of the peace we now have with God? Why would God allow those things to happen to his beloved son?
  4. Read Philippians 4:4,10-13. How do we obey this twice repeated command when life brings hardship or struggle? When you consider Paul’s life and the lives of those to whom he wrote letters, why do you think he emphasized rejoicing so much?
  5. In Romans 5:2, 3, & 11 Paul uses a word which may be translated “boast” “glory” or “rejoice”. What are the three reasons Paul tells us we should rejoice in these verses? Which of these is the most difficult for you?
  6. What does rejoicing look like in your personal life? What is the benefit of rejoicing with others? Do others sense that you have a supernatural peace about you? Why or why not?
