As we strive to maximize Lakeside’s efforts to help people find Jesus, follow Him, and flourish as disciple makers, we are continually assessing how we can become more effective and efficient as a staff team. We are continuing to search for the right person to step into the Student Minister role, and are hopeful that we will find a good fit through the current round of interviews taking place over the next couple of week.
We have also made another strategic change to our staff team. Olivia Huber approached us with the conversation about her passions and her fit on the team. Olivia has prayerfully decided that her energy will be best spent as our Connections Director. Her gift of event planning, people care skills, her eye for aesthetics, and her passion for teaching will be utilized extensively in this new role. Olivia is a key member of our team and we are pleased that she will be positioned to maximize her gifts.
We have known for several months of Olivia’s desire to realign her focus. Thus, we have been searching during that time to find someone to fill the role of worship minister on our team. We are pleased to announce that the elders have offered the position to Cody Lane and he has accepted. Cody, and his wife Alexis, are currently serving at Madison Park Christian Church in Quincy, IL where Cody is finishing his internship. Cody is from Herscher, IL and will graduate of Lincoln Christian University in May with a BA in Worship Ministry. He has served in a handful of churches throughout his college years as well as leading worship on campus for the student body and youth conferences. Cody is a skilled vocalist and guitarist who brings a passion for helping others grow in their relationship with God and with others through worship and creative arts. We are blessed to have this talented young couple join our team and our community.
