  1. What kind of things make you really angry? What are some common excuses we make for our inappropriate anger?
  2. How were you challenged, encouraged, or convicted by this week’s message on anger?
  3. Read Matthew 5:21-26. Why is God so concerned about our anger? What does anger reveal about us? How is God’s anger different than ours?
  4. What do Jesus’ words in this passage tell you about his attitude toward anger? How is he changing his audience’s understanding about anger?
  5. Read Ephesians 4:20-27. How does this passage reinforce Jesus’ message in Matthew 5:21-26? How do we go about “putting on the new self” (v 24)? Share a few proverbs about anger from the book of Proverbs.
  6. Where is anger spiraling in your life? What step can you take this week to rid yourself of anger? What is your anger revealing about yourself? About your relationship with God?
  7. What are some practical ways you can respond biblically when your anger is triggered?
