Study Questions

1. Share a time when you found yourself trying to help in an

overwhelmingly difficult situation. How did you feel? How did

you carry on in spite of the difficulties?

2. Share how you did with last week’s specific and measurable

response to God’s Word? See question 5 from last week.

3. Recap this week’s passage in less than a minute. What did

you learn about God (Father, Son, or Holy Spirit)? What did

you learn about yourself?

4. As you read Isaiah 2-6 what are some categories of sin

the people are falling into? How are Isaiah 2:1-5 & 4:2-6

different from the rest of our text? Why is the catalog of

failure and judgement in the rest of Isaiah 2-5 needful or

helpful?

5. In Isaiah 5:1-7 we read the “Song of the Vineyard.” In the

New Testament gospels, how did Jesus tie into this vineyard

imagery?

6. In Isaiah 6:8 the prophet says, “Here am I, send me.” What

kind of response was he told to expect (v.9-13)? What from

these chapters would give him a glimmer of hope? How

hopeful are you when you share about Jesus?

7. Having heard this section of Isaiah, identify one specific act of

obedience you plan to do this week?

8. Write a one or two sentence prayer incorporating what you

learned from the sermon and study this week. Share with

your group.
